So Matt Cutts has come out said it guest posting is being overdone and is getting spammy. Now this reinforces my thoughts I’ve had for a while, that is quality guest posting as a trusted author is the only way forward.
So if I’m a SEO i guest post on moz.com with the only link being to my social profiles, g+ page etc i think this is fine. Posting high quality content on sites in your world or niche is ok [still IMHO]. It is mass emailing to every site on the planet that says we accept guest posts, and getting follow links that is trouble.
Example of a profile on Moz; Wil http://moz.com/community/users/6843
Matt Cutts says this on his blog;
“Okay, I’m calling it: if you’re using guest blogging as a way to gain links in 2014, you should probably stop. Why? Because over time it’s become a more and more spammy practice, and if you’re doing a lot of guest blogging then you’re hanging out with really bad company.”
